Precision Seam Trimming for Vinyl Installation

The Mozart Trimming Knife is the go-to tool for clean, flush seam trimming on luxury vinyl plank and sheet vinyl installations. Its compact, balanced handle gives you full control when scribing and trimming overlapping seams before welding — eliminating the rocking or slipping that leads to gaps or overcuts.

Blade Orientation & Use

The blade seats at a low angle to the work surface, keeping the cutting edge flat along the floor. For seam trimming, hold the knife nearly parallel to the vinyl and draw it along the seam with consistent, light pressure. Rotate to a fresh edge as soon as drag increases — a sharp edge is the single biggest factor in seam quality.

Compatible Vinyl-Welding Workflow

• Overlap the two vinyl edges at the seam by 1–2 inches
• Scribe and trim through both layers in a single pass with the Mozart Trimming Knife
• Remove the offcut, press seam flat, and allow edges to relax
• Apply seam sealer or heat weld rod as required by your installation spec
